Super Hero AR App

Super Hero AR offers a retail strategy that connects mobile applications with traditional retail displays and delivery. It’s a game changer.

In March of 2012 in advance of the much-anticipated premiere of The Avengers, the creative team at Ad-Dispatch began assembling assets for an app set to take in-store marketing to the next level. We teamed up with Marvel Entertainment and Walmart to deliver an interactive augmented reality (AR) marketing campaign. [1]

My role in production was split between technical-director of animation and director of graphical user interface design. Animation responsibilities included producing the Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow augmented reality character assets for first-person-shooter gameplay. Character models and textures were based on style guides for the theatrical release, and optimized for mobile platforms.
