Inlet to a set of three beach houses, Lockeport, 2015

Art of Lockeport
Dane Aleksander—wildlife painter in… Lockeport, Nova Scotia.
Me ma has a habit of renting a beach house in summertime in Lockeport, Nova Scotia. I sometimes tag along. I always have colored pencils and pastels and so on. We get fresh fish from a local vendor and fresh vegetables from a local market. We mix our fish and vegies together, with each serving bundled in tin foil and cooked conceivably over a bon fire. There sometimes is a fire ban. We often make do with a barbeque.
It has been a few years since I have been into my acrylic paints, and a few of the colors have dried up. I make do with the few that I have with me.

My study settled on the large rocks reaching into the water in front of our beach house window.
Back at home, a few colored pencil drawings were fitted to a bizzarely matted frame. I presented the collage to me ma as thanks for the fish.
